The above example is a multi-effect designed only for the effects loop and all effects are chained with just one input and one output. It is conceivable to compose several processing lines inside the same box to insert them at different places in the signal chain. One can thus separate the effects intended for the input amp, those placed in effect loop and those inserted at the output of the Fredamp preamps, before the Fac Sim or power amp.

Grouping effects on one or more segments brings simplicity and power:

• a single diet,
• fewer cables so less noise, less fault recession and easier to install,
• macro-commands: the effects being grouped, it is easy to control them by PRESETs programmable by simple clicks to the foot,
• centralized MIDI control, to select effects separately or, one of the PRESETs ...
• coupling to other hardware: for example, channel change control of the amp by dry contact to ground.
